Regardless of your current state of fitness, we’re here to help you move, feel, and live better with our unique strength training.
The Impact of Fitness in your Life
A fit person can go through their life with a greater sense of wellbeing. Their body is prepared to respond to the different demands that life places on them and their fit body will help to carry them through those more difficult times.
They can have a greater degree of self-confidence and improved self-image. A fit person can reduce their probability of experiencing cardiovascular issues, reduce their blood pressure, improve their blood flow, and boost their levels of good cholesterol. A fit body also helps you in controlling your weight and can help to prevent bone loss that can lead to osteoporosis.
People that lack fitness have a more difficult time navigating the challenges of life. They may experience issues with body image, energy, or sleep more than those who are fit may not experience.

The Stout-Heart Fitness Training Process

Our unique, tailored training programs use controlled, intentional physical stress to enhance resilience and strengthen neural pathways while correctly engaging specific muscle structures.
We focus on improving the mind-body connection of people who train with us, along with helping athletes in tuning their muscular engagement for each exercise.
This results in a more efficient and natural movement as the athlete progresses through an exercise.
Our approach allows each athlete to gain confidence and adaptability while frequently improving the athlete’s emotional well-being.
Real Results from Real Athletes
“What sets Josiah apart is his emphasis on the mental and emotional aspects of fitness—helping us recognize how our mindset impacts our workouts and how our workouts, in turn, influence our mental state. He genuinely cares about our progress, is excited about our personal records, and is invested in our well-being.” – John C.
“Stout-heart changed my life and helped me achieve my goals of becoming a stronger rock climber post-major surgery. I cannot recommend them enough, especially to any moms craving postpartum physical therapy or anyone else who has felt their ambitions to gain strength or mobility have fallen on deaf ears in the Healthcare system.” – Gina S.
“Training with the Stout Heart trainers has been wonderful! I hadn’t realized how many daily movements I just avoided doing because they were painful for me (like getting my kids’ shoes out from under the bed, or getting the biggest pot out of the bottom cabinet) until I started working with them and suddenly those little tasks were doable and easy again! They can work with anyone at any level of fitness!” – Karissa H.
“I had been having debilitating back pain. Much of my back pain was from improper movement, which they were able to help me with by teaching me new movement patterns & strengthening things like my glutes & hammies! This was 2 years ago. I’ve stayed w/ Stout-Heart because I love how I feel. It’s a safe environment where I can push my limits, both physical & mental. The workouts are challenging & help me to face life’s challenges. I’m so glad my family & I are members at Stout-Heart Fitness!” – Jessica L.

Common Pain Areas and Our Solutions
About 70% of our athletes come to us with back pain. The remaining 30% are experiencing discomfort and pain in the knees, hips, or shoulders. Regardless of the location of the pain or how the pain developed, we apply our core principles of muscle strengthening and recreating “muscle memory” for proper movement to produce lasting relief.

Back Pain
- Causes: Weak lower abdominal and oblique muscles force the erector muscles to overcompensate, locking up the spine.
- Solution: Strengthen the core musculature and retrain the brain to stabilize the spine correctly with the muscles intended for that purpose.
Knee Pain
- Causes: Weak quads, hamstrings, or post-surgery imbalances. Athletes suffering chronic knee pain often raise concerns about joint replacements, which may be unnecessary when proper strengthening might resolve the pain.
- Solution: Build strength in the surrounding muscles to reduce pain, increase knee longevity, and delay or prevent replacement surgery.
Hip Pain
- Causes: Weak lower abdominals and glutes, leading to pain during flexion, extension, or prolonged standing.
- Solution: Strengthen the core musculature and glutes to improve movement and reduce pain.
Shoulder Pain
- Causes: Rotator cuff tears, frozen shoulder, or dislocations destabilizing the shoulder joint.
- Solution: Targeted strength training to stabilize the joint and improve functionality, such as lifting or overhead movement.
