Stout-Heart Fitness is owned by Matthew and Elspeth Jimmink, a husband-and-wife coaching team. Together with our team of trained coaches, we are committed to building stronger, healthier, more resilient human beings.
Our clients come from all over the Antelope Valley and beyond to train with us, we are open to the public and serve everyone. All our services are based on the same fundamentals, but every program is personalized to each and every client. We feature one consistent training program, all billed at the same rates, which is customized for the needs of each individual athlete.
Whether you’re here for Strength Training, Pain & Rehab conditioning, or Neurodivergence, we can help.

Matthew Jimmink
Matthew started his fitness coaching journey in Crossfit. While he enjoyed working with clients on their movement and form, he realized he craved a deeper understanding of human movement and the mind-body connection.
A friend at the gym introduced him to Julien Pineau, founder of the Strongfit training method. That day changed everything!
Now, Matthew works hard to help clients overcome the limitations of neurodivergence or pain and injury by understanding their bodies and how their physical, emotional, and mental states affect their overall health.
Elspeth Jimmink
Since Elspeth was a little girl, she read and applied as much as possible about health and wellness. After becoming a mother, she learned more about the physical, emotional, and mental aspects of prenatal and postpartum health.
Now, as a mom of four, she is passionate about the physical aspect of healthy pregnancy and postpartum recovery and the day-to-day mental game of parenthood. In many ways, postpartum recovery mirrors the work she does with neurodivergent individuals.
Elspeth wants to see people become strong in who they were meant to be, allowing them to handle daily stressors better and affect change in their relationships, whether they suffer from chronic pain or neurodivergence.

For Our Neurodivergent Athletes
The core of all Stout-Heart Fitness programs comes from considering physical, mental, and emotional health. What do we mean by this? Simply put, a person’s mind and body must be strongly connected so that the body experiences what the mind expects (or predicts) during movement and interaction with the world and other people.
For neurodivergent individuals (we call them “athletes”), this mind-body connection is weak, leading to a range of debilitating conditions and emotions. Our programs for neurodivergent athletes rebuild and strengthen these connections to create outcomes that surprise and delight the athletes and parents.
For Our Chronic Pain Athletes
Stout-Heart Fitness sees many people suffering from chronic pain caused by sports, accidents, occupational conditions or other sources. The injury causes pain when the individual tries to use the proper muscles for a movement.
Pain tells the body to switch from primary muscles and joins to suboptimal, weaker muscles and joints to perform the motion, and the mind quickly remembers this as the preferred movement. Unfortunately, these weaker muscles tire faster and persistent pain develops. Our programs use targeted exercises to reengage the proper muscles. This process “reprograms” the brain to use the correct muscles, with the goal of reducing pain over the course of the program.

For our Strength Training Athletes
Physical conditioning provides you with a richer life experience, strengthening your body so that it can function as it should. Regardless of your current state of fitness, we’re here to help you move, feel, and live better with our unique strength training.
Your body is prepared to respond to the different demands that life places on it and your fit body will help to carry them through those more difficult times. And as a fringe benefit, you can have a greater degree of self-confidence and improved self-image.
